Helping Hands at Christmastime

“Christmas is a-coming and the goose is getting fat”… these words from a traditional English Christmas Carol make us think of the holiday season and the bounty of food that is such a part of Christmas here on the prairies.  Saskatoon is situated right in the heart of the Canadian breadbasket, so one would think that there would be no shortage of food for the people living here.

Not so.  The mere existence of places like the Saskatoon Food Bank show us that there are still many people in Saskatoon who cannot afford a holiday feast, let alone food for everyday survival.

During this time of “goodwill toward men” let us think of those less fortunate than ourselves and think of how we might be able to make a difference.

Here are just a few things that we can do to help our neighbours in Saskatoon:

There is so much that can be done.  If we all make an effort to think of others and do just one small thing, we can accomplish so much!  Let’s band together this Christmas season to give back to our community and help make Saskatoon a better place to live!
