Toronto Home Sales Up in February
Despite a very cold February, home sales were up by 2.1 per cent compared to the same period last year and 38.6 per cent from January 2014. Toronto Real Estate Board President Dianne Usher said “The sales increase was largely driven by resale condominium apartments. This is in contrast to the listings situation for singles, semis and townhomes, where supply continues to be constrained.”
Dianne Usher predicts the pace of sales growth will accelerate if we see renewed growth in listings for low-rise home types. This coupled with strong growth experienced over the last year should prompt an improvement in the supply of listings, however sellers’ market conditions will continue to prevail.
