Jane’s Walk – A Second Look at Regent Park

May 5, 2012 – There’s no bigger change happening in Toronto right now than the sweeping re-development of Regent Park, so it’s no surprise Daniels Regent Park Revitalization tour was one of the most popular Jane’s Walks  this year.

With Phase 1 of the revitalization now complete and Phase 2 underway, this year’s Jane’s Walk toured the newest developments and community initiatives just launched or launching soon. Guided tours departed from the Daniels Presentation Centre at 500 Dundas Street East and along the way community organizers and residents shared personal stories and perspective on the changing the face of Regent Park.

Tour Highlights    

The Aquatic Centre
Opening Summer 2012

Features a 25m lap pool, a leisure pool, swinging ropes, a waterslide and splash tank.

Six-Acre Community Park
A place to meet, unwind and enjoy the outdoors without traveling far from home. Features include everything from picnic areas and an off-leash dog park to gardening plots, a greenhouse and even a community oven.

Regent Park Arts & Cultural Centre
Opening Fall 2012

A three level creative hub that will host artistic groups from the local community and beyond, all under one roof.


Daniels Centre of Learning
Now Open

This fantastic Centre delivers inspiring programs and activities that promote resident engagement and participation all year round.
