The internet is increasingly becoming something we watch versus read; that’s why adding video content to your real estate website, blog or social media sites is an important tool to increase your value proposition to current clients and help win new ones!
So what are you waiting for? Inspiration…
Here’s 4 super easy ways to start using video in your real estate business today!
Listing Video Tour
One of the most obvious ways to use video for real estate is to do a video tour of your listings. And if you’re using a professional photographer, chances are the video tour is already included with your listing photography package. Videos posted on YouTube can be redistributed in your blog, Facebook, Pinterest, email newsletter, and on sites like Craigslist and Kijiji.
Client testimonials come to life with video. Ask past and present clients to share their personal buying or selling experience in a casual 45-60 second testimonial. Be sure to get permission, a video release form is a good idea. You don’t need a lot of setup - you can even do it while meeting them at the property they are buying or selling. Come up with 2-3 standard questions, and use your smartphone to shoot and upload the video to YouTube on the spot. Once you have several of these, you can edit them in to a a great looking testimonial video! Or, post them one at a time on your social media sites!
Neighbourhood Video Tour
Build your trusted “local expert” status by creating a video tour of the neighborhoods you serve. Show off favourite neighborhood features, local parks, schools, trendy spots to dine and shop. Pick a neighbourhood and choose 5-10 locations to feature. Take pictures and shoot 30-second videos with your smartphone. Interview a shop owner or local resident. Make your video interesting. Later you can music, voice-overs, description text and more with simple online editing programs like Animoto and Ezvid, or iMovie for Mac users.
Frequently Asked Questions
Think about the questions buyers and sellers always ask. Compile the popular questions and answer them in short 30-second videos. With this theme, you could easily create a video library of the “top 10 frequently asked questions”. Plus, it’s a great way to showcase your knowledge and expertise about your business and local market. If you are not an expert when it comes to a particular question, invite some of your professional friends and colleagues (mortgage broker, attorney, home inspector, etc) as guest speakers to answer those questions. Again, a simple smartphone is all you need.
