Anyone who has done any renovations in the past will attest to the savings that can be had by taking advantage of the Habitat for Humanity's stores. In September of this year they left their old location at 555 Simcoe St S in Oshawa and set up a new store in Midtown Mall. The new location is 15,000 square feet, almost twice the size of the old location.
The Habitat for Humanity Restore is a retail facility that accepts donations of quality new and used building materials and household items, and resells them to raise funds to support Habitat Durham's building programs.
The ReStore also is environmentally friendly since it diverts construction and renovation waste away from landfills.
Habitat for Humanity is supported by local companies, contractors, and individuals who share the goal of helping to provide affordable housing for local families.
The current building project is CentreTowne, a 24 unit development to the south of downtown Oshawa.
There are three ReStore locations in Durham. In addition to the new location at Midtown Mall, you can also visit ReStore at 85 Chambers Drive, Ajax and 141 Reach Street in Uxbridge.
