My favourite part of my job is assisting a client to select and ultimately purchase a new home. I enjoy getting to know my client, picking apart the layers of what makes them tick, what would make their lives run smoothly, what would help their family be harmonious, and most importantly, what would bring the most joy to their lives. A good agent is an adept listener- is this space adequate for the home entrepeneur, will they be joining families together, is an aging parent coming to live, is an adult child returning home, is this a short or long term solution to your housing needs?
Anyone that has read my blog is probably aware of my extensive experience in new home sales. I have been educated to "think outside the box". Not "how can you use this house", but "what can we do to make the most use of this house?" I love this. Space planning is exciting. When you are planning your most important investment, it is good to make sure that every square inch serves you well. I will visit a client's current space to see how it is being used. When I am armed with all the information I can possibly absorb from a house tour, a coffee shop meeting, or an emailed wish list, then I begin the search. I will attend the agent's open houses that week, scour the new listings, have another look at the existing listings, and hopefully present an attractive array of acceptable options. I hope to find you something that not only meets but surpasses your needs, something that takes your breath away. This will be your haven after a long day out in the cold, brutal world, and it is most important to me that it be perfect.
