I recently came across a blog that wrote a post on “Staging for Living.” As a real estate sales representative, I always give tips to my Sellers about how to best stage their home for sale. Working with Buyers, I have direct feedback from seeing lots of homes on what the majority of people like and don’t like. Clients also ask me to do a walk-thru of their home to see what kinds of things I suggest they could renovate or replace or change so that their home is ready for mls. I can’t count the number of times I’ve heard, “I wish I would have done this sooner – I love it and now we are moving!”
I really like the concept of staging for living. You do not need to be moving to have your home clutter-free and organized. Why not feel good about our space every day? I say every day – who really has the time to have their home looking show-ready every day? I know I don’t! However, I like the simple idea that everything should have a place. It makes busy days a bit less hectic when you know where to find things or you aren’t digging through a pile of stuff in a rush. I know I feel more content when I look around and everything is in order. It’s also easier to maintain once you’ve put in the effort and the routine. Then, you can just relax and enjoy living! Check out that blog on becomingminimalist and hopefully you’ll take away a few tips, just like I did.
