August 3 was the camp tour day for Century 21 at Easter Seals Camp Woodeden. I thought that the camp was going to just be wheel chair accessable buildings and a park with trees and flowers, because the kids are on wheel chairs, what can they do? To my surprise, the camp has all the facilities for the kids to do sports that fully abled kids do, e.g. basket ball, swimming, archery, hocky, even rock climbing.
Most kids go to Wonderland to experience the excitement of being thrilled, especially being up in the air. Kids with physical disabilities can have the same excitement too in this camp.
It's really the "Wonderland" for them.
I feel proud of myself being a member of Century 21, because we support Easter Seals who's the sponsor of the kids with physical disabilities to go to the camp. You can go to www.century21kidstocamp.ca for more infomation.
