Breeding Bird Atlas of Quebec - Les oiseaux nicheurs du Québec 2010-2014

Many people West Quebec are active in the new Breeding Bird Atlas of Quebec

In 2009, the Regroupement Québec, the Canadian Wildlife Service Environment Canada and Bird Studies Canada have partnered to produce the 2nd Breeding Bird Atlas of Quebec.

This project will require five years of ground, from 2010 to 2014. The study area covers at least one of the first atlas, but special efforts should help collect data for Northern Quebec.

The inventory will be the same as the first atlas, that is to say that participants will find breeding evidence for the greatest number of species in each plot of 100 km2. For cons, the introduction of point counts will determine the relative abundance of species in much greater detail. The completion of the second atlas is another step that will include comparisons between the current distribution of species (2010-2014) and that of 25 years ago (1984-1989). The participation of all birders, experienced or beginners, will be put to in order to realize this great project. Help us and join the atlas!
