Chamberlin's Lookout! 2 Thumbs up!

A hidden gem in Wakefield!

For years (since the renovation) I have been suggesting to clients and friends a gem of a restaurant that I'm not sure everyone knows about, Chamerblin's Lookout. It is a little bistro type restaurant above the Wakefield General Store in Wakefield. I discovered this place a while back and immediately fell in love with it! I mean how can you not fall in love with the view overlooking the Wakefield bay! If you can time it just right you might be able to get a seat out on the second story patio with the most amazing view! And who knows... you might just catch me out there paddling in my 1953 wooden canoe!

You'll have to excuse the screen in this photo. It was too chilly to sit outside!

I have to admit that after my initial discovery of this place I hadn't actually frequented it very often until just recently. Georgie and I celebrated a recent sale and just loved the experience! The view hasn't changed and my "go to" BLT on locally baked bread was to die for! Georgie tried the veggie burger with blue cheese served with the most amazing chutney. (I'm not sure what was in it but it looked good.) Apparently the chutney was so good that Georgie even had to go back and pick up a jar sold separately in the general store downstairs! The only disappointment that I can think of was that the home made sliced chips have been cut from the menu and replaced with a much more healthy spinach salad!

Another item that both of us would have loved to order was Triple Cream Brie with Local Honey and Crostini! Man that sounds good!

I'm not a food critic but I do think that if the average Joe driving by might just miss this little bistro tucked away above the busy general store in Wakefield and shouldn't! Next time you're looking for a quaint, nothing fancy, good food bistro to stop at and have a bite to eat, I highly recommend it!

I haven't had anyone who followed my recommendation tell me they wish they hadn't and Georgie and I definitely give it our two thumbs up!
