Have a GREAT day!!
I love working with people!
I think my greatest thrill is helping my customers find the home that is 'just right' for them!!
I joke that someday I'll sell a home with no commission payable, because I look hard for that perfect home for my people and have never looked at what I'll receive as monetary compensation for my efforts!
It's interesting working with people who are selling their homes and offering my 'worldly advice'! (The oldest of seven children I give advice readily! Grin!)
I have an absolute passion for 'character' homes!
I, also, love working with numbers, so it was an easy decision to take The Investment Qualification Course offered by Century21!
The end result being that I am able to understand the wishes of the investor, and determine what type of property is best for them, or conversely who is most likely to be interested in purchasing a particular revenue property that I am marketing!
Raised in small towns, Boissevain, Waskada and Riverside...aaah those dances, I gravitated to Brandon when I finished high school (Brandon being a small town with a lot of people!) and worked, very happily for John Allen at Clement's Drugstore. Manitoba Telephones had an opening for a service rep, and, at the insistence of my cousin, I applied, was accepted and spent the next few years there.
Love, marriage, babies (two fantastic sons) full time homemaking,Defensive Driver (classroom) Instructor and hundreds of hours of volunteer work occupied the next few years of my life!
In1982 I followed a lifelong dream and entered the nursing program!
Kicked out for 'asking too many questions' (one should not suggest changes when one is a student), I took H & R Tax Preparation and worked there for a season. Hectic! Enjoyable!
A dear friend, Florence Zawadsky, encouraged me to consider real estate. I did...and as they say...'the rest is history'!!
I have had the absolute pleasure of doing this for twenty eight years now..and..still don't feel like I've 'worked'!!
Affiliated with Century 21 for twenty-seven of my twenty-eight years, I've had the ability to access excellent training opportunities! These opportunities have presented themselves both as formal training and well recognized speakers and trainers!
- Investment Qualification Course (Designed to teach investment opportunities, understand returns on invested dollars and appreciate long and short term investments and best application for the individual buyer or seller.)
- Business Practices
- Floyd Wickman Sweathog Program..as the name suggests this was an intense 6 week course! It was designed to help agents to work effectively for their buyers and sellers. Fun! Hard work!
- Numerous mini courses including the initial basic 2 in 1 course that is mandatory when joining the Century 21 system!
- The annual mandatory educational courses provided by Manitoba Real Estate Association. Excellent!
Speakers and Trainers
- Mark Victor Hansen (co author of the many 'Chicken Soup for the.....' series)
- Mike Berry
- Mike Ferry
- Cary Mullen (Yes! The world record breaking downhill skier!)
- Richard Robbins
...to name a very few!
Conventions and Conferences
- Annual Century21 Conventions with interesting speakers and informative training sessions.
- Richard Robbins Conferences
CRIDDLE/VANE HOMESTEAD COMMITTEE A great grandaughter of Percy Criddle (senior) I've had the pleasure of being involved with this outstanding committee, chaired by CHARLOTTE OLESON, since its' inception. The purpose of the committee is to preserve, and hopefully, restore the site for historical purposes.
The Criddle and Vane families built one of the first golf courses and the first tennis court in Manitoba.
Keepers of the first meteorological information in the area, their records were used until the recent 'computer era'.
Harry Vane, notably, created a dust that was used for many years to kill grasshoppers.
The credit was often given to Norman Criddle, entamologist, who was well known in his own right, but who irrevocably always insisted he had little, if anything, to do with this discovery.
Famous (locally) for their 'grand' parties, it is felt that The Criddles and Vanes added a certain 'culture' to the time.
Many artifacts from the original homestead can be found in various museums in Manitoba and Victoria, B.C.
High school in Waskada and Boissevain.
Brandon University saw me wandering it's 'halls of knowledge' as I took the required courses for the nursing program.
Joining Century21 in 1984 I had the joyous ability to access numerous courses, speakers, trainers, conferences and conventions! Currently involved in the ongoing Century21 Coaching Program under the guidance of the world's BEST coach...Ray Brownlee!!
Having a thirst for knowledge I, also, took numerous one or two day courses outside of Century21.
Trained to be a trainer with the local real estate board. (Brian Swayze's 'Train the Trainer' week long course, Winnipeg.)

An avid reader I enjoy fiction with a 'twist'. e.g. Earl Stanley Gardner's PERRY MASON stories, MICKEY SPILLANE stories and more recently the action stories of Sidney Sheldon and John Grisham! My favorite being Sidney Sheldon! Raunchy, but enjoyable , are Jackie Collins' novels.
I LOVE animals and enjoy my precious 'furry' family. Nothing like a houseful of love to welcome you!
Born to dance, I do at every opportunity I get!!
Love my family and enjoy long 'chats' with them!!
