5 kitchen items that pull double duty
With all the household cleaning products (the new and the newly improved) on the market, it's hard to know exactly what to buy. The good news is that everyday household items that are probably already in your kitchen can perform just as effectively as cleaning agents.

Baking soda...a baking soda/water paste will remove small scratches and nicks from laminated countertops.
White vinegar... add a quarter cup of white vinegar during the washing machine rinse cycle to remove static cling from clothing.
Salt... add a quarter cup to the laundry rinse cycle to remove soap residue. It can also be used as a mildew-retardant.

Mayo... put a thin layer on dingy looking piano keys and wipe with a dry cloth.
Lemon... rub fresh lemon into your cutting board to remove discolouration.
