There were 197 sales reported in the Regina area in December. This is an increase of 9% from the 180 in December 2012. This compares to the five-year average of 189 and the ten-year average of 170 sales as reported by the Association of Regina REALTORS® Inc.
Statistics for December 2013 compared to December 2012:
- Average sale price in Regina and area including bedroom communities:
- down 8% - from $$316,234 to $291,755
- Average sale price in the city:
- down 1% - from $306,504 to 302,814
The decline in average sales price is attributed to a shift to a higher proportion of lower priced homes selling in December rather than across the board price declines.
The number of sales that occurred during the month is consistent with what is expected at this time of the year. November and December are typically slower months for sales but there continues to be a good supply of homes on the market for buyers.
