"This home has been a part of our family for 11 wonderful and memmorable years. It boasts of many characteristics, of which, are some that are not visible to the plain eye. Some are physical and many are in the form of memories that will never be forgotten and will last a lifetime for us and for many that have visited our home. From the moment you walk in the door, the color schematics used give you a warm, cozy and comforting feeling that immediately make you feel right at home!
We have done extensive renovations which include but are not limited to: windows, doors, door and window trim, baseboards, flooring including new sub flooring in all rooms, kitchen, bathrooms completely redone from top to bottom, new furnace and water heater, siding including insulation on the house and in the attic and shingles as well as the basement getting completely renovated which included the addition of a cold room for extra storage. Outside, a new deck was installed. Some of the paint colors and decorations were chosen with the help of our children. The big windows in the living room, master bedroom and dining/kitchen areas allow for plenty of natural light and good viewing of the backyard if you have children. Our's have enjoyed many playful days back there!!
The master bedroom closet was modified to allow for a bit of a walk-in area and to allow better use of the area. The basement includes a bar that can be converted into a wetbar simply by hooking up the plumbing that is already there. A huge bedroom in the basement is a great asset if you are a large family living in the house or have lots of family that visits. The kitchen was renovated to include a huge pantry for lots of extra storage - even for some small kitchen appliances. Extra cabinets were also added from the original kitchen to allow for more cabinet space. The backyard has a block patio area for a fire pit. Many fun filled evenings were spent around it with family and friends! There is a huge pine tree for shade during the hot summers days and keeps the house quite cool even though there is no air conditioning. There is a beautifully maintained grassy area that is big enough to hold a trampoline and swing. Our kids love playing on them and we love watching and playing with them.
The backyard also has a great apple tree that provides big apples if you like to do some baking. We have used them to make pies, apple juice and apple jam that are delicious. As well, for anyone that like to dabble in gardening, there is a little garden patch in front of the deck that we have used to plant fresh vegetables in. At the size of the tomato plants in it, you can tell that it is a great spot for a little of something!! There are a few perennials as well that include a chive herb plant that last even after freezing.
The garage is a real "oversized" garage (26 x 28) that, at one point, held 3 vehicles. We have a muscle car that was stored in it for a few winters. As well, has hosted many large family functions that were too large for the house. The garage is heated to allow for this. It is also wired for 220. A park in the back adds a larger playing area for kids/adults if the backyard is too small. Both the Catholic and Public School in the area are in walking distance from the house either through the cresent or through the park. Our daughter's first few days of Kindergarten started with a walk to school through the park. During the winter, there is bus service in front of the house for any one attending Bishop Roberecki School which is the Catholic school in the area. We were able to watch our daughter catch the bus from our living room window. The cresent is very quiet and there are great families here that we have associated with. One family watched our daughter at their daycare, other families we associated with because our children played together. One of our neighbours has become like grandparents to the kids since our families do not live in the Saskatoon area. This house would be a great place for a young family starting off to form their own memories like we have or a matured family that has had children leave the nest!! It has been well maintained and we would love a family to move in that would also take great pride in owning this home. If it weren't for the fact that we have out grown the house, we would love to stay here! "
