Quebec offering tax credit for home renovations as part of stimulus package

QUEBEC - The Quebec government is offering a new tax credit for people who want to renovate their homes.

The initiative was part of an economic stimulus plan announced on Wednesday by Finance Minister Monique Jerome-Forget. Quebecers who spend $20,000, for example, on renovating their bathroom will receive the maximum credit of $2,500. Work that costs $15,000 will result in a tax credit of $1,500.
