Reuters: April home resales rise 20 percent in Canada

TORONTO (Reuters) May 17 2010  - Sales of existing homes in Canada in April rose more than 20 percent from a year earlier, while new listings also climbed, the Canadian Real Estate Association said on Monday.

The industry group said on a seasonally adjusted basis, a total of 42,078 homes changed hands in April, up 20.1 percent from the same month last year.

The national average price last month rose 12.2 percent from a year earlier to C$344,968 ($333,302).
