Canada Home Sales
The headline on The National – CBC “As the looney slides the housing market is heading in the opposite direction”
Several cities experienced a Spring time surge to the point of bidding wars on property showing that the demand for housing is still there.
In Toronto prices increased 5% and sales were down less the 1%
In Vancouver prices decreased by 3% and sales increased 11.9%
In Calgary prices increased 5.6% and sales increased 5.51%, even though there was floods the last half of the month of June.
A big change from the sluggish numbers of 2012, with no evidence of the housing market collapse predicted by so many. This boost the chance of mortgage rates rising, possibly pushing those with pre approved buyers to act now.
