Completed in 1881, the Dufferin County Court House was considered one of the finest municipal buildings in Ontario. The three storey brick building is located at 51-53 Zina Street in Orangeville. This is a designated historic building and is part of the self-guided Downtown Orangeville Walking Tours

When the courthouse was completed, which was the site for municipal offices and with the jail attached requirements were satisfied and the county's provisional status was extended to full county status and solidified Orangeville's status as the county seat.
