Well it’s official, spring is here. With the unseasonably warm temperatures, we can’t help but get excited for the upcoming months. Take advantage of these warm days to get a head start on your spring cleaning. If you are thinking of selling, now is the perfect time to get your home in tip top shape.
Pull out the phone book and schedule your yard clean-up. After the harsh winter months, your yard will need a good cleaning, trimming and sprucing up. Be sure to clean up old debris, leaves and twigs, trim the hedges and sweep and hose down the driveway and pathways around your home. It is also a good time to get your windows cleaned. Rain and snow inevitably leave marks on the windows, so get them crystal clear in time for when your home gets on the market.
If you get a rainy day, be sure to get at those closets, storage spaces and the basement where we tend to pile things we don’t know what to do with. Clear out all the clutter and develop a pile of items to donate, a pile to toss and a pile to keep. Consider investing in a few rubber maid bins or storage containers to store winter boots, coats and items you won’t need until next year.
These are just a few of the things you can do to get started in getting your home in selling shape. Enjoy the warm weather!
