I get a ton of questions from home sellers on how to make their houses sale ready. There are a few simple ways to make your home look the best it can. First of all, clear everything you can from shelves, counter tops, tables, practically every flat surface in your house. If all these surfaces are cleared the house appears more spacious and the potential buyers walking through the house can picture their personal touches in those empty spaces. Another tip is to make friends with febreze. Once you've cleared your home of clutter, an offensive odor can really take away from the appearance. If you are a smoker or pet owner I can not stress this point enough! A word of warning with this tip is not to over do it with the odor eater either because you can have too much of a good thing. Make white paint your best friend. White paint acts as a blank canvas for home buyers to visualize the possibilities with the space. Get rid of pink, green and blue walls, these colours can really date a property. The last quick tip I will give for now is to clean your windows. Buyers will always look at your windows to check for moisture, mold. cracks and age. If your windows are spotless you have the option to let a lot of natural light into your house which is always a positive. Its very simple to get get your home ready for sale, all you need is a bit of elbow grease and maybe some paint. Best of luck with selling your home!
