Found something new in the Toronto Star while waiting in the airport lounge for our Vancouver-bound plane home from Century 21's Canada Conference. An exciting invitation: "Welcome to Moneyville. Welcome to financial possibility" -- the paper has just launched a new website to tie in with its Business section's new look and new focus: The website features up-to-the minute financial news, tools and more...lots of great real estate advice and more importantly, easy information to access regardless of whether or not you live in Toronto and have the Toronto Star delivered to your doorstep. Being on the West Coast, it is nice to have an Eastern perspective on things, but maybe that Eastern perspective is just good solid advice which we all can use from time to time. One of the first articles I read was "10 Ways to Avoid Buying the Wrong House" by Mark Weisleder. Seemed like a good place to start because I definitely want to avoid selling people the wrong home. His article was aimed at how to avoid buying with your heart instead of your head. And in the paper version which is now stretched out before me, my favorite part is from Wealthy Barber author David Chilton's excerpt from his new book which will be published next summer (The Wealthy Barber Returns). He had been talking about the danger of renovating: "The four most expensive words in the English language? "While we're at it..." And the four most expensive letters? HGTV."
