Origami Office

Was reading the June/July 2010 issue of Colorado Homes and Lifestyle magazine when I came across a new way to describe an office that has been tucked away into a closet or niche: Origami Office. Sounds much more exciting than to say you are working in a closet. The concept is from Lynn Williamson's winning design in the Design Element, Residential category of the American Society of Interior Designers Colorado 2010 Crystal Awards. Her desk design unfolds for use and folds back up again into a hidden alcove that is 30 square feet. She built the desk on spring-loaded industrial wheels which will pivot out when asymmetrical doors decorated with artwork are opened. What a clever way to hide away a work space!
