Personal Background

My wife Carrie and I are the proud parents of 3 great kids.  My oldest is an 18 year old boy who is currently attending Queen's University.  My oldest daughter is 17 years old (that's right) and is currently in grade 12 at Lakefield District Secondary School.  My youngest daughter is 9 years old in grade 4 at Ridpath Public School.

I was raised in Thornhill, but I have been a cottager in the Kawarthas my entire life.

Personal Interests

I would have to say that most of my personal interests revolve around the lake.  Fishing, golf, skating, spending time with friends and family, I guess living the dream really is possible.

Professional Interests

I try to stay involved as much as possible with my industry via the internet.  I find that I keep in touch best by playing hockey in the winter and golf in the summer.  The men's leagues that I have been in over the years have a diverse group and there is a steady flow of information covering many industries.

Professional Background

In conjunction with my real estate career I also own Canadian Cottage Ltd.  Specializing in landscape and property maintenance we have been servicing the Kawartha Lakes area since 1999.

After graduating from Thornhill Secondary School in 1986 I centered my post secondary education around business, computers and sociology.  I have found that this background has been a huge benefit to me and the major reason that I have been self employeed for the past 18 years.

Community Involvement

Over the years we have been involved with the Lakefield Santa Clause Parade, donated to and fund raised for the Canadian Cancer Society, supported the Lung Association and volunteered at our children's schools as much as possible.

  • The award that I am most proud of would have to be my Certified Landscape Professional designation (CLP).  This extensive business course allowed me to be highly competitive in the Landscape Industry while giving me the ability to structure the business in a way that gave me time to concentrate on my Real Estate career.
