QFREB forecasts 77,000 Centris® Sales for Québec This Year

In an article published on July 25, 2016, QFREB (Quebec Federation of Real Estate Boards) revised its initial forecast of 76,000 residential transactions for the province of Quebec in 2016, and now predicts there will be 77,000 sales.  In the first six months of the year, the number of residential property sales has increased by just over 5%, making this the busiest year since 2010.

In the article, the QFREB maintains that the market remains favourable for buying a property – mortgage rates remain low, consumer confidence remains high, and the job market is posting gains.

On the Island of Montreal, the market conditions for single-family homes have generally returned to “sellers” territory, and the supply of properties for sale is marking its first decline since 2010.
