Blossom Report - Orchard Tours

Town of the Blue Mountains, Collingwood and Meaford Region

Our experts in this region are telling us this would be a nice time for a tour of the orchards – cherry and plums are in full bloom now; pears should open in the next day or two; and the first apple blossoms have just started to open – apples should be in full bloom by mid to end of next week.

The Blue Mountain Village is at the heart of the Apple Pie Trail with the 30+ stops wandering around it from Collingwood to Meaford including a journey up the Niagara Escarpment to the Beaver Valley. 20 of the 30+ stops on the Trail remain open year round so there is no shortage of local gems to stop in for breakfast, lunch and dinner plus museums and artisan shops.

This region is also home to some of the largest lilac groves in the province. The lilac blossoms are visible but they are still closed. It won’t be long before we see this spectacular show ... perhaps by next weekend.
