Santa Claus Parade - Brampton

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

Are you making a list? Checking it twice? Yes, it’s that time of year again and we’re all very excited while waiting patiently for the annual Christmas parade in Brampton.

Did you know? Brampton’s Santa Claus Parade was the first night-time Christmas Parade in the GTA.

With over 150,000 people attending the parade today, the Santa Claus Parade was initially resurrected as a Community Parade in 1985 and ran in the afternoon of the 3rd Sunday of each November. The Sunday afternoon parade drew crowds of 20,000 to 25,000 along the parade route with another 20,000 viewing on the Roger’s television broadcasts.

In 1995, it was decided by the organizing Committee to alter the timing of the parade to allow for a night parade format. The adjusted timing had the parade commencing at 5:00 p.m. on the 3rd Saturday of November.

This year, line the streets of downtown Brampton and welcome Santa during the largest night-time Santa Claus parade in the Province! This year promises to be a beautiful twinkling event of floats, inflatables, marching bands, costume characters and so much more. You won’t want to miss it!

It takes an organizing committee of approximately 20-30 people, along with a plethora of volunteers to facilitate 40+ floats, 16 band entries and many other types of participants to put on this remarkable annual event. Along with being a fun and festive event for the local community, the parade provides local businesses with the chance to enhance their profile in the community and give back.
