First Annual Oakville Trees for Toys Helps Build CTV and the Salvation Army’s Toy Mountain
The first annual Trees for Toys project is a fun, charitable program where donated Christmas Trees are given away, free, to the first 100 people bringing an unwrapped toy or gift to the Hans Taal, Century 21 Miller event
467 Speers Road on Saturday
December 12th, 2009 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
This year, Trees for Toys is focusing on Teenagers (ages 12 - 16) as they are often overlooked.
This year’s goal is to provide over 200 teenagers with a gift at Christmas. All toys donated will go to the 14th Annual Salvation Army Toy Mountain campaign and distributed to Oakville and area teenagers. All unclaimed trees will be donated to families in the Oakville area.
CENTURY 21 Miller salesperson Hans Taal has donated 100 trees to be given away to the first 100 people to bring an unwrapped gift to the event. Guests will be able to join CTV’s Tom Brown and visit with Santa Claus as well as participate in face painting, entertainment and refreshments. Mayor Rob Burton will be on hand to help collect gifts and give away trees.
In 2008,TOY MOUNTAIN exceeded its goal of 100,000 toys, bringing in an incredible 102,000 toys for families in need in the GTA.
