First Annual Trees for Toys Builds Up Toy Mountain for Oakville Teens!
The first annual Trees for Toys event collected over 325 toys for teenagers and received over $415 to the Red Kettle Campaign – far exceeding the expected goal!
Trees for Toys, held Saturday December 12th, 2009, is a non-profit event where donated Christmas Trees were given away, free, to the first 100 people donating an unwrapped toy or gift. This year, the focus was on toys for teenagers, as they are often overlooked.
All toys and cash donated were given to the 14thAnnual Salvation Army Toy Mountain campaign to be distributed to Oakville and area teenagers. All unclaimed and donated trees were donated to families in the Oakville area.
Everyone enjoyed visits with Santa Claus as well as participating in face painting, entertainment and refreshments
As you can imagine, without the support from the many volunteers and sponsors, the dream and goal of this program could not be realized. It is truly satisfying that the following sponsors contributed generously to making Trees for Toys such a huge success.
