Great News for Mount Hope

In November, the City of Hamilton approved a building, tax incentive and grant programme concering the Homestead Drive and Airport Road area of Mount Hope. Mount Hope is most famous for its John C. Munro International Airport and War Plane Heritage Museum(housing one of only two operating Lancaster Bombers in the World) and for anyone playing golf at the immaculately groomed Southern Pines par three course at Upper James(old Highway 6 South) and Airport Road or to the pre-Madarin era Lee`s Chinese Restaurant. Please see the link for a list of incentives:

The programme was contested and a appeal was issued to the Ontario Municipal Board but as of February 25th, 2014, the appeal has been dropped and the City of Hamilton is accepting applications for the incentives for Mount Hope to move forward to provide and cater to its increased and growing population. At present there are applications and approvals of another 700 new residences to the Mount Hope community.

Mount Hope is about an 8 Km drive from Hamilton proper's Southern border but has no grocery store, no drug store and only a couple of variety stores to service the immediate area. The well known development issues of Caledonia (10 minute drive south of Mount Hope) and the burgeoning development of the south Hamilton Mountain at Upper James has propelled Mount Hope as the new 'bedroom town' of the Hamilton areas' Southern border. Mount Hope is minutes to the Airport and the new Highway 6 access connecting the 403 Highway and Ancaster all surrounded by rolling hills, nurseries and golf courses.

Great new Hope for Mount Hope!
