Hospital Gets $500,000 Towards Equipment Purchases

New Oakville Hospital Dundas

The Oakville Hospital Foundation received news on Monday that BMO Bank of Montreal will be putting $500,000 towards new leading-edge medical equipment for the new Oakville hospital being built at Dundas Street and Third Line. The contribution is primarily going towards the Surgical Day Care Unit of the new hospital, which focuses on the development of non-invasive surgical procedures. This program has resulted in approximately 75% of all surgical procedures being done during the day, which results in less hospital stays for patients.

Some of the equipment being purchased with this contribution includes:

  • defibrillators
  • intravenous (IV) pumps
  • physiological monitor
  • stretchers
  • ultrasound scanners

The Oakville Hospital Foundation is hoping for more generous donations to reach its $60 million dollar goal. .
