In a few weeks, you and your family will be sitting down to unwrap gifts and enjoy the holidays with lights, festive music and seemingly endless amounts of delicious Christmas treats. Packed with joy and loved ones, there is no doubt that Christmas is my favourite part of winter!
While there is cerainly nothing wrong about us enjoying our holiday, have you taken time to consider those who will not be celebrating quite like you this season? There are children whose families do not have enough money to buy gifts, turkey dinner or even a Christmas tree.
These children are in our community - and we can help!
Yesterday December 7th, the Staff and Salespeople of Century 21 Miller hosted an event called Trees for Kids. This is a non-profit event, where donated Christmas Trees are given away free to the first 60 people donating an unwrapped toy or gift for a good cause. The focus was on gifts for teenagers, as they are often overlooked.
Money was also raised for Easter Seals Ontario from our Bake sale, Poinsettia sale, Face-Painting, and more.
The event was truly a beautiful sight as it brought the community together in an effort to bring joy this holiday to children in need. Though it was cold outside, many people graciously gave their time, money and thoughtful gift donations. I would like to extend a huge thank-you to our sponsors and those who came out to support.
We collected a huge mountain of toys - and I only wish I could see the happy faces of the children when they recieve them!
