Today's Mortage Mondays blog is going to be a little different because while I do want to talk on the subject of money, it's not quite about mortgages.
In honour of the now retired Canadian penny, I did a search for some Halton charities that are accepting your old pennies and putting them to work.
Drop your pennies off at any Tim Hortons location and know that they'll go toward the well-loved Send a Kid to Camp program. The Foundation provides a fun-filled camp environment for children from economically disadvantaged homes.
Even $10 worth of pennies would provide a child with a new camp T-shirt. For more information about how each donation helps, visit the donations page.
Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, Pennies for Puppies
Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides is calling out to all Canadians to put their change to work through the Pennies for Puppies program. The goal is to raise approximately $20,000, or two million pennies, to cover the cost of placing one Dog Guide with someone with a disability.
Coins can be donated to the Lions Foundation as loose change or rolled. The head office at 152 Wilson Street in Oakville will be accepting coins and cheques. For more information, please see the Pennies for Puppies webpage.
And Mortgage Monday would be complete without the lowest rates from my friend Bryan Guertin at Mortgage Intelligence. Give him a call to get pre-approved!
