Public Skating in Oakville


The Town of Oakville offers programsfacility rentals and public skating opportunities on 19 ice and shooter pads in seven arenas/community centres.

All participants must wear skates for admission to public skating. Helmets are strongly recommended or mandatory for all programs. Capacity restrictions apply to all skates.

Admission fees

Single admission for public skating, adult public skating, adult and preschool recreational skating, and adult and preschool instructional hockey:

  • General – $4 (no charge for children under 2 years of age)
  • Senior (ages 65+) – $3.15
  • Group (five individuals maximum) – $12

As well as pay-as-you-go options, there are 10-visit, three-month and one-year swim/skate passes available.

Single admission (per person) for Family Shinny Hockey, Children and Youth Shinny Hockey, Adult Shinny Hockey, Adult 50+ Shinny Hockey, and Women's Only Shinny Hockey is $7.50 per person. There is no group or senior rate for the shinny hockey programs.

Please note: Only cash payments are accepted at OakvilleMaple Grove and Kinoak arenas.

Skate and helmet rentals

Skates and helmet rentals are now available at select locations, including Sixteen Mile Sports Complex. Quantities and sizes are limited.

Various recreational skating opportunities are offered. Open the recreational skate schedule (pdf, 150 kB), in effect September 19, 2014 to March 22, 2015 (start and end dates vary per location). For the most up-to-date recreational skating information, please call the respective facility. Schedules may change due to program requirements or maintenance needs. All arenas are closed on statutory holidays. Holiday recreational skating and Christmas break schedules are posted in each facility.
