Team captain, Cathy Dunn with 3 of her hardy Power Walkers.
What a great day Sunday was for power walking. It was fun, great exercise and all for a good cause. Thank you to everyone who sponsored me in the 5 K Power Walk at Wallace Park on Sunday, June 20th for the 14th annual OTMH Classic in support of the Oakville Hospital Foundation. The route we walked was beautiful as we went down by the harbour and through the tree lined streets of Oakville. Many of the historical homes we passed had plaques, so it was like getting a mini history lesson about Old Oakville as we walked. As team captain of Square Feet, I was pleased that all members managed to complete the race in good time. Afterwards, we enjoyed a father's day brunch served under the trees at Wallace park. Our efforts helped contribute to the grand total of about $145,000 which was raised for new equipment purchases for the Oakville Hospital.
Sponsorships raise funds to help purchase vital equipment such as a 'critical care ventilator' or a 'recumbent exercise bed' for the Cardiology Department. You'll see me as captain of the 'Square Feet' team. Go to www.otmhclassic.com
