Neighbourhoods
Downtown, Old Oakville, Eastlake, and the Lakeshore corridor are among the most sought after, and expensive, residential areas with many custom built, multi-million dollar, luxury homes, as well historical, protected properties. Increasingly, many luxury condos and townhouses are also being built in this area. The middle part of town clustered around the QEW features established neighbourhoods with well maintained properties. In the north and west part of Oakville, extensive building has created family friendly new subdivisions, however, prices are still high, on average about $500,000 for a detached family home. The central core around Trafalgar Road is seeing an increased emphasis on high density housing with easy transit access to the QEW and the Go train into Toronto.
