Bayview is an affluent, humble community located in the southwest quadrant of Calgary. Bayview is one of Calgary’s premier waterfront neighborhoods and home to fewer than 700 residents, two thirds of which are between the ages of 45 and 64 (City of Calgary, 2012). Almost all residents of Bayview live in single detached homes, but a small subset of apartments do exist (ibid).

Bayview residents enjoy ease of access to several different schools for children of all ages: Nellie McClung (K-6), Chinook Park School (K-6), John Ware School (7-9), Bishop Pinkham Elementary School (6-9), Harold Panabaker Elementary School (7-9) and Henry Wise Wood High School (9-12) (Calgary Board of Education, 2012).

Bayview is located a short drive from the popular Chinook Mall. One of Calgary’s premier shopping locations, Chinook is sure to have stores each member of the family.  Deerfoot Meadows and the Blackfoot Farmers Market are also a ~15 minute drive away and home to a variety of retail and gourmet food stores.

Residents of Bayview have the Elbow River and one of the city’s only downtown marinas in their backyard.  The historical Heritage Park, South Glenmore Park and walking trails along the Elbow River are family friendly and beautiful places to escape city life to go for a walk or hike. For the golf lovers in the family, the Earl Grey Golf Club and Lakeview Golf Course are a short drive away from the community.

Commute downtown? The Heritage LRT station is a short drive for homeowners in Bayview, and will have the commuter downtown in ~30-minutes.
