The community is located North of Dundas St, South of the 407, East of Tremaine Rd, and West of Ninth Line. The New Communities of Oakville will be home to 50,000 residents and create nearly 35,000 jobs. The area includes residential, commercial, employment, institutional, natural and open space areas; and is expected to be built over the next 20 years.
Dundas Street, Neyagawa boulevard, Trafalgar Road, and Burnhamthorpe Road encompass the urban core, consisting of residential units, retail and commercial services, entertainment, cultural, business and institutional uses. The New Oakville Hospital, presently being constructed in the area, located on Third Line and Dundas is expected to be completed by July 2016.
The neighbourhoods in the New Communities of Oakville are transit friendly, walkable, include community parks, an interconnected unique trail system specifically designed for the new community, contain natural forested areas with urban cores and commercial employment lands.
