August After the Visitors Have Left

August aquamarine waves splash among my air mattress, cooling my tepid skin, as I take in the beauty of the Okanagan. Rippling hills, blue skies, marshmallow clouds where else would I rather be? Family and friends make this their destination hot spot too. Everyone comes to me and we relish the time we share whether it is in the summer: golfing, drinking wine, relaxing lakeside or in the winter: snow shoeing, drinking wine, relaxing fireside. You can always count on the weather, snow or shine which is great for locals or visitors alike. I truly am the envy of all my friends and it isn’t always for my witty personality, maybe for my forever welcoming house. I should do something about that…perhaps stop greeting, cleaning, or feeding them. Guests are nice to have, but they can be a lot of work. Maybe I need a vacation from my visitors. Nah, not when I can work, play and, live in the city I love to call home.  What if I send them some recreational property? That just might work!
