CITY DECLINES MOTION TO REPAY DAMAGE EXPENSES

A written letter submitted by the St.Thomas Ringette Club generated some debate at Monday's council meeting.  The club was seeking around $250.00 from the CIty so they could be repaid for damages caused by dehuumidification problems in and around their storage facility that they rent from the City at the Timken Centre.

Alderman Dave Warden told the other members of council and staff that the room should not have been rented out in the first plac by the CIty if they knew there was a problem with it.

Director of Parks and Recreation Ross Tucker responded by saying the hallways have been the main cause for concern, not the storage facilities.  With that being said, Tucker added that the problem needs to be fixed after the next budget meeting.
