FIREFIGHTERS DOUSE ROAD PAVER BLAZE AT EAST LONDON BUSINESS

A fire that engulfed a road paver outside an east London business caused $30,000 damage Saturday.  The fire sent a plume of smoke billowing into the air that was visable 5 kilometers away Saturday afternoon.  Fire fighters received a report of a crane on fire at a construction company on Jetstream Rd., west of Veterans's Memorial Parkway.

Upon arriving, firefighters found a road paver, not a crane, enfulfed in flames.  Twenty firefighters worked to battle the blaze.  "They made a quick stop on it so it didn't spread into the building." said Platoon Chief Mike Black.

Damage is estmated at $30,000.  Nobody was injured.  The cause of the fire is unknown.
