The Kettle Creek Conservation Authority has been encouraging residents to purchase a rain barrel.  Public Relations Supervisor Luiza Moczarski says rain barrels are important because they can help you use that water for things such as watering your garden.

Moczarski says the United Nations is promoting water cooperation this year and that's why they're offering a special deal for their rain barrels.

If you're interested in picking up a discounted rain barrel you can visit or visit the Kettle Creek Administration Centre.  Rain barrels can save more than 3700 litres of water per year.
