Info from the 2011 census conducted by StatsCan is now being released. One interesting figure was income in our region - compared to those same numbers nationally. The national average income in Canada was $38,700. President of the St.Thomas and District Chamber of Commerce Bob Hammersley says that most residents in St.Thomas earn an average income compared to the rest of the Country.
Hammersley added that if you lilve in Southwold the odds are you make close to $41,700 per year - which is $3000 more than the national average. Hammersley says that these figures are a positivebecause disposable income means more spending which in-turn means more business in the area.
