After a summer of paid parking in Port Stanley, the project is coming to an end - for now. While there are some mixed feelings on it, Carol Gates owner of GT's Beach Bar and Grill, says they supported it.
Gates adds that the parking wasn't even that expensive - $10,00 and free after 5:00 pm, compared to Wasaga at $20. and Grand Bend at $18. She say's that there will now be a report done on the income from the parking to sse if it should be implemented. Gates adds she's cautiously optimistic about it being a good thing for Port Stanley, and thinks the weather was the reason for less visitors - not the small parking fee.
