It's a hold the fort type of budget issued by Finance Minister Jim Flaherty and the federal Conservatives. While it re-allocates resources and cuts back on tax cheats, no new money will be added as the country looks to balance the budget by 2015.
Elgin Middlesex London MP Joe Preston spoke to my FM following the release of a budget and says it' about jobs, training and infrastructure. Increased spending will support Canada Jobs Grants but the $15,000. funding is contingent on provincial and private contributions.
Preston says small business who create new jobs will also receieve tax breaks adding that in his riding, a loss of jobs in the manufacturing industry have lead to many small business start-ups.
The biggest line item in the budget happens to be infrastructure coming in at $47 billion in new funding over 10 years. A Building Canada Fundo of $14,000 Billion will give municipalities access to funds for larger products.
