Summer Fun Around Winnipeg

Here we are in the midst of our beautiful summer and the hot and sunny weather is calling us to head to the beach.  With over 100,000 lakes in Manitoba, there is a beach somewhere where you like to relax and let life's stressors stay on the back-burner.  Many of us visit our well-known Grand Beach, rated as one of the Top 10 Beaches in the Country.  Many people world-wide join in the world-renowned Winnipeg Folk Festival coming up July 10-14 this year.  Folklorama takes us to the first two weeks of August, where Pavillions are set up through different locations in the city featuring food and culture from around the world.  Not to mention the surrounding townships and their independent festivals, like Morden's Corn and Apple Festival, or Highland Days in Selkirk.   Locally, check out Assiniboine Park's Lyric Theatre where, all summer long, the free-stage presents various musical groups, with Doc Walker and Kenny Shields taking stage along with our prized Royal Winnipeg Ballet.  Grab a lawn chair and head out early to get a good spot!

Our Province in alive with multi-culturalism as we highlight all the culture and festivals around the province, many of them cost nothing to venture through with the family.   So have a look at the various areas and their festivals, plan your family weekends and you could visit a different town and festival every weekend all summer long! Check your AirMiles too, there are great deals when redeeming AirMiles for other products or services.  AirMiles are not for just flights anymore!
