Do you care about art? Well then you need to know about this. A member based co-op along with a partnership from the town of Fort Qu'Appelle has created the Qu'Appelle Valley Centre for the Arts (QVCA). The QVCA is a non-profit, member-based community arts facility that operates out of a historic, turn of the century school house.
The QVCA offers a performance space and a gallery space for use. Plans and renovations are also in progress to add studios for all sorts of activities like dance, pottery, painting, and potentially an artistis-in-residence apartment. All this is great for tourism and to elevate the arts in the local community, however this organization is fairly new (formed in June of 2011) and needs support. So, if you care about the arts, do yourself a favour and check out their website (www.qvcarts.ca) then think about becoming a member, making a donation, volunteering some time, or simply just attending one of their events. Because at the end of the day.... Its stuff like this that makes a community rich.
