Changes to the Open Air Fire Bylaw

Having a backyard fire is a great way to spend time with close family and friends on those cool summer evenings. There has been strict regulations in place for quite some time surrounding these types of activities. However, the City of Regina has made a move to tightened up those regulations and add some new restrictions. The idea is to promote a higher standard of safety in our fair city, but also to prevent these backyard events from becoming a nuisance to neighbours.

If you have an existing fire pit or are planning to set one up this summer you may want to check out the City's website to make sure you are in compliance with the bylaw. Otherwise you may be subject to a nasty fine.
