Recycling The City's Waste Water & Turning It Into Power!
The Co-op Refinery located in Regina, SK has a new project at hand. They are taking about taking 100% of the water they use and recycling it, then turning it into power. How great is this for the city and the environment!? Have you ever driven past the refinery and noticed a foul smell? This is from their waste water plants. The recycling project will reduce the waste water amount, thus reducing the foul smell.
The $200-million project will convert the waste water into steam to heat the refinery, create power, and produce hydrogen. It will also reduce reliance on freshwater by 28% (Approximately 3,1000 Regina households) on an annual basis!
