Take Advantage Of Grants to Retrofit Your Home

Just wanted to remind home owners that The Saskatchewan EnerGuide for Houses (SEGH) program offers provincial grants for some home improvements. Potential benefits from applying for the program include:

  • Examining where your energy dollars go
  • Learning how appliances use energy
  • Comparing your home's energy use to other homes
  • Access to grants to help cover a portion of your retrofit expenses
  • Reduction of your energy bills
  • Helping the environment by reducing your greenhouse gas emissions

In order to apply you must first book a pre-retrofit evaluation through a licensed SEGH service organization. This evaluation must be conducted to qualify for a provincial grant. There is a cost for the evaluation and the last day to have it completed by is June 30th, 2013. The Province of Saskatchewan pays for ½ the cost of the pre-retrofit evaluation, up to $150, to reduce the upfront cost to homeowners. The service organization will only charge you the difference. For more information on the program please visit the following link: http://www.saskenergy.com/saving_energy/energuide.asp
