Why I Decided To Volunteer At The JUNOs

So far in my career I've been graced with endless opportunities to be constantly learning new things and to meet a lot of new people along the way. Many of whom I would never have had the chance to cross paths with otherwise. I've found that for the most part my clients and the general public expect me as a REALTOR® to be both knowledgeable about the real estate market and the communities that I'm working in. I'm not only expected to know the numbers (i.e. prices, interest rates, resale values, etc..) I am also relied upon to act as an ambassador for the city, towns, and neighbourhoods that I work in. This is especially true for anyone that is relocating from somewhere far away into Saskatchewan or the Regina area.

The big lesson here, at least that I've noticed, is a piece of land is only worth as much as the community that is built on top of it. The richer the community the more desireable it is for someone to spend / share their life there. I've noticed a change in our city (yes there is a bit more traffic congestion on the roads) but it is becoming more vibrant, more alive.

Events like the JUNOs don't just show up anywhere, the places they come to have to have a strong and vibrant community in order to successfully pull it all off. The way I see it, if all it takes is a few hours of my time over a few days to help show off the best of my community.... then I'm happy to do it.
